The Space Between Relief and Grief
A Supportive Therapy Group for Adults
When an abusive or estranged parent dies, the feelings that follow don't always look like grief — and that's okay.
You might feel relief. Or anger. Or a strange numbness where you expected sadness. You might feel nothing at all, and wonder what that says about you. Whatever you're carrying, it's valid — and you don't have to carry it alone.
About the Group
The Space Between Relief and Grief is a compassionate, judgment-free therapy group for adults navigating the complex emotions that can arise after the death of a parent who caused them harm.
This is not a group about performing grief the "right" way. It's a space to show up exactly as you are — with whatever you're feeling, or not feeling — and find understanding, connection, and healing alongside others who get it.
Through guided discussion and creative activities, members will explore the full range of emotions that can accompany this kind of loss and work toward greater acceptance and peace.

Meet The Group Leader
Brittany Dreyer, PLPC brings both professional training and deep personal understanding to her work with grief. She knows that loss doesn’t follow a script—it can show up as sadness, anger, relief, or even physical pain, and it looks different for every person and every relationship. In her groups, there are no wrong feelings, no right way to grieve. Just an honest, supportive space to say what you’re carrying out loud — and begin to heal.
Brittany is under the clinical supervision of Amanda Woollard MA, LPC, NCC (MO license #2013012287)
